Job Description

We are seeking a coach to assist in the delivery and ongoing development of the rowing program. The role involves working closely with the Head of Rowing to build strong foundations across a range of athletes, from beginners through to developing competitive rowers.

Hours
Approximately 8–10 hours per week based at Murwillumbah Rowing Club, including:

  • Early morning water sessions
  • Afternoon training sessions
  • Saturday sessions (including regattas as required)

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with coaching junior and development squads
  • Support Learn to Row programs
  • Contribute to athlete development, safety, and skill progression
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Rowing and broader coaching team
  • Assist with equipment setup, boat handling, and on-water supervision

Desired Skills and Experience

Experience and Qualifications

  • Rowing experience (coaching and/or competitive background preferred)
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate young athletes
  • Reliable, punctual, and a team player
  • Coaching accreditation (favourable)
  • Current NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Boat licence
