Job Description
The Speech and Drama Tutor is responsible for delivering high-quality training in their area of expertise, guiding students through Speech and Drama lessons across grades K-12. They prepare students for various assessments, productions, and performances, adhering to the required standards. Under the direction of the Director of Theatre and Dance and Performing Art Coordinator, they not only lead lessons but also actively promote the school's mission and ethos. Their role extends to encouraging participation in the school's Performing Arts program and setting exemplary behavioural standards.
Desired Skills and Experience
Passion and proven experience delivering high quality speech and drama programs
Recognised teaching, speech and drama and/or acting or public speaking qualifications
Ability to teach to AMEB and Trinity examination standard, from beginner to advanced levels
Knowledge of key syllabi of one or more of the following: AMEB, Trinity, ASCA (Australian Speech Communication Association)
Experience teaching and developing Speech and Drama programs K-12
Ability to develop and manage individual and/or group learning plans for students
Experience creating learning environments which engage and stimulate learning and promote excellence
Ability to support and prepare students for external examinations
Experience with eisteddfods and performance opportunities
Strong communication skills for liaising with parents, teachers, and administration
Current NSW Working with Children Check clearance
Commitment to Child Protection training
