Job Description
About the Role
The bus driver plays a pivotal role at Lindisfarne in ensuring student safety and fostering a nurturing environment during transport. They are responsible for driving along specified routes and maintaining a clean, orderly, and secure atmosphere on the bus. They not only adhere to safety and traffic regulations but also contribute to the students' daily experience with warmth and attentiveness, reinforcing the school’s commitment to care and community. The driver’s consistent interaction with students is key to establishing a positive start and end to the school day.
This casual role requires availability to work for morning and afternoon school runs, sports events and other excursions.
Salary $39.04 per hour + 11% superannuation
Key Duties
Drive an allocated bus on specified routes and excursions while ensuring the care, safety and comfort of Lindisfarne students
Monitor and report any issues which may affect the service and timetable
Maintain order amongst students during trips to ensure safety
Keep the bus clean and in good working order at all times
Work split shifts and rosters as directed and provide flexibility when needed
Demonstrate high levels of professionalism in all activities
Desired Skills and Experience
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
Holds a NSW MR Drivers Licence or higher and holds a NSW Bus Driver Authority (or be willing to obtain one)
Medically fit to drive
Previous school bus driving experience or experience in a similar role (desirable)
Hold a current First Aid Certificate (or be willing to obtain one)
Have an understanding of and commitment to the Anglican Christian ethos
