Job Description

The primary focus of the position is to provide administrative support to the Director of Music and the Music Faculty, ensuring that all aspects of the music program operate efficiently at all times. The program incorporates classroom, private instrumental and co-curricular Music.

The successful candidate must be willing to work flexibly, including outside normal hours.

This is a school term time position and the salary on offer is pro-rata $81,875 per annum, excluding superannuation.

Key Responsibilities

Provide administrative assistance as delegated by the Director of Music.

Support the smooth and efficient running of the faculty under the guidance of the Director of Music.

Manage reception and administrative duties in the Music Faculty office including:

  • private instrumental music
  • the co-curricular program
  • the employment of peripatetic staff
  • faculty events and performances.

Maintain accurate records of supplies, equipment, and resources.

Respond to telephone, email, and face-to-face enquiries in a professional manner.

Manage incoming and outgoing communication

Complete data entry and processing using the student database (TASS).

Produce accurate documents and resources through word processing, spreadsheets, and desktop publishing

Desired Skills and Experience

Knowledge and Skills

  Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students and adults.

  Proven ability to work independently and manage competing demands.

  Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Apple MacOS and Google Workspace systems.

  Familiarity with school web based management systems, such as TASS.

  Knowledge of general accounting procedures.

Experience

  Background or experience in music and/or performance, with the ability to anticipate needs and respond proactively.

  Understanding of the demands of rehearsals, performances, productions, and ensembles.

Qualifications

  Minimum of three years’ administrative experience, ideally in an educational setting.

  A current First Aid certificate or willingness to train and obtain a First Aid Certificate.

  A current NSW Working with Children Check.
