Job Description
Join our team as an OOSHC Educator, where your adaptability and proactive supervision ensure the safety and engagement of children in our care. Collaborate with staff, maintaining clear communication and a keen understanding of service policies and child legislation. Welcome and update parents with a friendly demeanour, manage risks effectively, and uphold confidentiality.
The role is permanent part-time Monday to Friday
The hours are 2:30pm - 6.00pm
Flexibility to working additional hours, particularly during school holidays, is a requirement
The position is based at our Junior School campus at Tweed Heads and would suit a person who loves working with children and has early childhood/pre-school programming experience

Key Responsibilities
Be fully aware of and attentive to all children under your care.
Provide supervision and manage children in your care effectively.
Support the Coordinator with responsibilities such as vacation care program, policy updates, and medical management plans
Provide assistance and support to other staff members as required.
Participate in risk management procedures and implement safe work practices.
Knowledge and Skills
Genuine enjoyment and passion for working with children, with the ability to provide vigilant supervision
Create engaging environments for children to explore and document their learning and development at a high standard.
Demonstrated ability to document children's learning
Capability to step into the Coordinator role to cover leave absences and act as the Responsible Person in Charge
Building and maintaining relationships with our amazing children, families, and educators.
Part of a teaching team that develops learning programs based on your knowledge of each child, their ideas and goals using the Early Years Learning Framework
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Professional presentation
Understanding of and ability to implement all relevant aspects of policies, procedures and legislation for childcare.
Warm and effective interpersonal abilities, capable of engaging positively with parents and managing sensitive incidents with discretion
Qualifications
Studying or having completed Early Childhood Education (ECE) qualifications i.e. Certificate III (CHC30113), including attainment of competency in Unit CHCPRT001/CHCPRT025 Responsible Person In Charge.
Safe Food Handling Certificate or willingness to obtain a Safe Food Handling Certificate.
First Aid certificate or willingness to train and obtain a First Aid Certificate.
A current NSW Working with Children Check.
To be eligible for this position, applicants must either hold permanent residency in Australia or be Australian citizens.
