Job Description

Following the appointment of the incumbent, Jeremy Godden, as Principal of Cathedral College Wanagrata, Victoria, we seek to appoint a dynamic educational leader as the Head of Junior School at Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School. 

The Head of Junior School is a key member of the School’s executive, responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the Junior School (K–4). The role leads a culture of excellence in teaching, learning and wellbeing, ensuring that every child is known, supported and challenged to achieve their potential. 

The Head of Junior School provides strong instructional leadership, develops staff capability, and ensures the effective implementation of curriculum, pedagogy and assessment aligned with NESA requirements and the School’s strategic direction. This role works in close partnership with staff, families and the broader School leadership team to build a connected, high-performing and values-driven Junior School community.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven ability to lead a sub-school with clarity and purpose, balancing strategic vision with operational leadership, and driving change and continuous improvement.
  • Extensive expertise in primary education pedagogy, curriculum, and assessment, with a track record of enhancing teaching through coaching and professional development, and a strong grasp of data-informed strategies to boost student growth.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for building trust, alignment, and accountability, experience in developing staff and fostering leadership, paired with high emotional intelligence and sound professional judgment.
  • Highly developed knowledge of Child Safe Standards and mandatory reporting in NSW and Queensland, with the ability to apply expertise in complex situations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with staff, students, families, and external stakeholders, whilst confidently representing the School and its values.
  • Strong organisational skills with experience in managing multiple priorities in a complex environment, covering school operations such as timetabling, compliance, and systems oversight.

Salary will be commensurate with the successful applicant's skills, qualifications and experience, based on the Independent Schools NSW Cooperative Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2025.
